Soda Buen Comer

About
A genuine Costa Rican soda right on the main street — the mom-and-pop kind — where the prices are the headline: typical casados, arroz con mariscos and cold beer at roughly half what nearby spots charge. Recent visitors call the food tasty and the staff friendly, with fresh natural juices like tamarindo and passion fruit, and they take card. Portions run smaller than US-sized, and service can slow when it's busy.

I have really enjoyed eating here. The food is much more affordable compared to other spots in the area, and the food is very good. Staff is also very friendly!
Really nice place. Good solid food. Very tasty. Beer was half price of other places in Tamarindo. I had arroz mariscos. Very delicious
If you're looking for an authentic Costa Rican 'Soda' (local mom-and-pop spot), this is a great one right on the main street. We stopped by for breakfast and we seated ourselves, she was busy so I grabbed menus on my own. Even with just one woman running the front, the service was quick and friendly. The papaya smoothie (made with water) was fresh and delicious. I had the chicken breakfast burrito, it was tasty, though definitely on the smaller side compared to US portions, so keep that in mind if you're starving! My friend’s chicken and rice was a hit. Don't let older mixed reviews deter you; we had a great experience, the staff was lovely, and they take card with no issues. A perfect, no-frills spot for local flavors!
