About
A hotel-Airbnb hybrid on a private, quiet cul-de-sac that's still a three-minute walk to Tamarindo's beach, restaurants, and clubs - even the catamaran tours leave from nearby. Host Agelie has lived here for years and is a fountain of recommendations, happy to book your surf, food, and adventures. Expect housekeeping, a shared pool, quality furnishings, and, if you add it, a fresh breakfast served on your private patio by the pool.

WHAT A STAY!! My girlfriend and I visited on our first trip to Costa Rica and our stay at Villa Nautilus was the perfect choice. It feels like combining the perks of a hotel (house keeping, pool stay, great communication around booking, private room) with the feel of an Airbnb (tucked away home, gated, very nice pool and outdoor lounging). The host, Agélie, went above and beyond to answer my questions leading up to our stay, as well as being very informative about the town and all the different adventures she could help book. In terms of location, you can’t beat it. It’s a few minutes to the sandy beach, and a couple minutes to all of the popular restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and clothing stores. All while being tucked away on a more quiet street. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our first trip to Costa Rica.
This was my first time in Costa Rica. We absolutely lucked into making the best possible choice of a place to stay by ending up at Villa Nautilus. We stayed in the room that comes with free breakfast. The room is very nicely furnished with quality furniture-- our bed was silent even when there were reasons for it not to be! ;) But much more important to your stay in Tamarindo than having a fancy hotel or bourgie resort, is having people as kind and helpful as Agelie and her family are to make your stay more enjoyable. Furthermore, I would posit that there is *absolutely* no location better in all of Tamarindo to live, for however short or long of a time you will live there. It is somehow in the heart of downtown, literally 3 minutes walk to *everywhere* of consequence in the whole city, while STILL managing to be on a private, quiet cul-de-sac. You are in a private haven completely removed from everything, and than you walk 3 minutes and you are at every club in town, and/or on the beach in Tamarindo. All the catamaran tours and things that happen leave from a place a few hundred yards from the cul-de-sac they live on. We got SO lucky finding this on our first stay in Costa Rica, and now I will never, ever dream of staying anywhere else when I inevitably head back to Tamarindo some day. Photo is of the breakfast served to us on our private patio overlooking the pool. Well worth the extra money to start our day like this each day!
We loved the Place so much. It was central, quite, familiar and the room was very nice and clean. In general the service was extremely kind and we could recommend a 100%. The owners were so nice to us and they also gave us so many tipps about what activities we can do (beach, food, best surf placed etc.). The atmosphere was cozy and it just felt a little bit like home.
