Come off a fishing charter with tuna or mahi-mahi and Walter's will cook your catch several ways -- ceviche, tartare, blackened, grilled -- and hold the rest with your name on it for tomorrow. It sits right on the beach, best at sunset, with a strong happy hour and near-nightly live music. Regulars end up back most days of their trip.

Had a late lunch here. Great atmosphere, view facing ocean, and good classic rock music playing, NFL games broadcasting on televisions. Food was delicious, ordered the Surf and turf myself, Tenderloin and Shrimp. Waiter was attentive and quick. Flies did show up when the food did, but server was quick to bring table fan which kept them away. Great experience, I would dine again.
Took yellow fin tuna and Mahi Mahi I caught to be prepared for dinner and lunch the following day. They did an excellent job. We had ceviche, tuna tartar, kebab, blackened and garlic grilled. Staff is great!!!
Walter’s Bar is the best bar in Tamarindo! The atmosphere at sunset is just amazing, and the service is outstanding. The coolest bartender, Yojany, always made us feel welcome. We often enjoyed the happy hour, and the drinks were always perfectly made. Highly recommended!
