Cafe Mar Azul

We discovered this restaurant after leaving Playa Grande Beach in Tamarindo and were very pleased with the experience. It is located in a beautiful, quiet beachside neighborhood and appears to be a small, family-owned establishment. There is ample seating under shaded areas, creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The menu offers a great variety of food and drink options. We ordered the Casado with tilapia, black beans, rice, and salad, and it was cooked to perfection with excellent flavor. It is an ideal place to stop for lunch or dinner after a day at the beach. The restaurant is tucked behind the beachfront homes, approximately a two-minute walk from the beach. While the pricing is on the higher end for this area, it is reasonable and expected given the location. We also noticed several locals dining there, which speaks to its popularity within the community. We would definitely recommend visiting when you are in the area.

Grace and Tracy have been absolutely wonderful to us during our stay! They are the sweetest people ever, and will go above and beyond for you! The food is amazing and we love their breakfast and spending our mornings with them! If you are looking for a good spot to stop (even to just grab a drink) this is your place!

The best and freshest food in the area. Everything is really well thought out and you can tell they care. Best value, best service and best place to get a happy hour drink for the sunset walk.
