Alan was absolutely fantastic! From the very first lesson, he made all of us — ages 11, 12, and 45 — feel comfortable, confident, and excited to get in the water. He is incredibly kind, fun, and encouraging, and he truly made sure each of us was successful. His instruction was clear and patient, and he had an amazing ability to balance safety with keeping everything light and enjoyable. He was always right on time, professional, and fully focused on giving us the best possible experience. Beyond just teaching us how to surf, Alan shared so much knowledge about the ocean — the tides, wave patterns, and how to read the water — which made us feel even more confident. We also loved hearing about Playa Grande from someone who was born and raised there. His pride in his hometown and deep connection to the area made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a surf instructor who is skilled, safety-conscious, fun, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed, Alan is your guy. We can’t recommend him highly enough! 🌊🏄‍♂️

I had such an amazing time surfing at Playa Grande with the ONDA team. Allan was my instructor and he really helped me improve my skills. He is a great person who makes you feel confident and happy after every session. Allan has a fantastic teaching style and helped me catch so many good waves! 🌊 Also, a big thanks to Olivia for the warm welcome. She did a great job organizing and communicating the lessons. The pictures and videos she took were super helpful and a nice touch. Highly recommend the ONDA team if you're in Playa Grande!

Best surf instructors! Great spot to find locals who grew up surfing in the area and have been teaching for many years. All of the instructors are patient, knowledgeable, safe, and make sure everyone has a fun time out on the water! Would highly recommend!
