Rural Tamarindo is where big groups go for authentic tico cooking — you build your own casado plate, and reviewers keep marveling that even a table of eight gets every order exactly right. The watermelon juice, the salad with passion-fruit vinaigrette, ceviche, and shrimp-and-rice come up again and again. It's open-air on the edge of town with plenty of safe parking and fair prices; a breeze helps on warm evenings.

If you are staying in Tamarindo this place is a must! True authentic Costa Rican food and the prices are great. Staff is wonderful. There is lots of safe parking ! A must!
We loved eating here! We came as a group of 8 and each of us ordered a separate “create your plate” meal. We all got something different and we thought everything tasted delicious. Lots of authentic Costa Rican food cooked and presented beautifully. They also got our order 100% correct despite the complexity, and it came out quickly. I would especially recommend the salad with passion fruit vinaigrette. We would totally come here again. Keep in mind that all of the seating is outside, so it was a little hot. Plenty of parking.
We absolutely loved this place! Our family of 8 ordered Casado dishes that were customized to our choices. Everything was as exactly ordered which is rare for such a large group. Everyone agreed it was amazing and we wished we could eat there multiple nights but we’re headed inland to La Fortuna. Definitely recommend this gem!
