About
A free, self-guided circular trail from Playa Grande's beach along the river and the edge of the mangrove forest. Walkers pass the beach huts, keep an eye out for monkeys, and heed the posted crocodile warnings (no swimming). It's an easy, quiet walk — greener and more rewarding outside the dry season, when it can look a little bare.

Stunning place, we didn't get to see any crocodiles and we walked on the beautiful islands up the river. Highly recommended!
A pleasant circular walk. Start at the beach (Playa Grande) and walk south towards Tamarindo until you reach the river. You can admire the beach huts along the way. Then follow the river to the cable car line and turn left into the small wooded area. The sandy path borders the mangrove forest directly (on your right). There are other trees to your left.
