YAKU Matcha is the matcha specialist in the plaza — regulars come twice a week for ceremonial-grade matcha some call the best in Guanacaste, plus strawberry and mango cold versions. The gluten-free, lactose-free carrot cake gets called to-die-for, and the pesto paninis (serrano, and pistachio with prosciutto) make it a real bite, not just a drink stop. YAKU Matcha was a wonderful surprise. Everything felt incredibly fresh, from the moment I walked in to the last sip. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with clean, high-quality ingredients that are clearly prepared with a lot of love and care. You can really taste the intention behind each item. I also tried one of their sandwiches, the serrano pesto, which was absolutely delicious and complemented the matcha perfectly. Photo clearly shows I could not wait to try it. The gluten free and lactose free carrot cake is to die for! A great spot for anyone who appreciates quality, freshness, and attention to detail.

I guess I’m officially a matcha fan now! I love the strawberry and mango matcha cold drinks—both were delicious and refreshing. The chia matcha pudding and the pistachio pesto prosciutto panini are also favorites. Great place, great service, and great prices. Highly recommended!
