Amy is a top notch tour guide! She made our 3 day tour to Nicaragua absolutely unforgettable! We were picked up from our resort and shuttled to the border where she handled everything for us prior to going through immigration! Once we got through another shuttle was there to take us to some amazing locations like Lagoon de Apoyo, Masaya volcano, Lake Nicaragua, Granada, Rivas, and San Juan del Sur just to mention a few! Her walking tour through the streets of Granada was so informational and fun at the same time! We visited a chocolate factory and were even taken through the local markets! I cannot express enough how wonderful Amy and her staff were! If you’re thinking of booking a trip you’ve got to Ask Amy!!!

We as Canadians (me, my fiance, and my in laws) did the 2 night 3 day trip to Nicaragua which included Grenada, Rivas, Masaya volcano, and San Juan Del Sur. We were a total group of 11 with ages from 26-80. Amy was a wonderful guide, definitely felt very safe and secure with her and her drives. After going to Nicaragua I would not go to this country without a guide (feels very unsafe compared to Costa Rica). Amy was excellent with communication on WhatsApp as well as in person throughout the tour. She gave us heads up on what to avoid (drinking tap water, certain buildings in town, pick pockets, children begging, etc). She had EXCELLENT restaurant recommendations. I have zero complaints about Amy but for other just a couple heads up- the road from Liberia to the border crossing gets very rough so if you have a back problem definitely do not sit in the back of the bus as the bumps will aggravate the pain for sure. During the border crossing there is a lot of walking (estimate 1-2km) so if you struggle with walking communicate with Amy ahead of time so she can try and arrange a wheelchair (as she did with our group) but throughout the tour the walking was more minimal except for the marker in Granada but it was a slow pace, once you get to the border you leave the bus and “exit” Costa Rica then have to walk 1-2km with your bags to the Nicaragua side, then you “enter” the crossing there and Amy was great at helping us out to avoid long lines… once complete immigration you then walk again to transfer to a different bus and driver. Bring a snack the first day!!! We had breakfast at about 0600 for meeting at 0700 to leave and unfortunately did not manage to get lunch until 1-2pm and we were quick through the border…thankfully my mother in law packed a granola bar otherwise I would not have survived the hanger.. -masaya volcano was extraordinary! - Grenada overall did not feel very safe, lots of people and children begging (even for your table scraps), lots of attempts to pick pocket so be very aware of your bags and surroundings - hotel Amy chose was perfect- great location, rooms were decent, AC, pool, breakfast - San Juan del sur was beautiful and felt more safe but holy windy!!! Sandblasted when you’re on the beach. Amy chose a 10/10 restaurant and even said “I got the good table so you don’t get sandblasted”. We didn’t spend too much time here as it was on the drive home Bring comfy sandals or shoes (I wore Birkenstocks and didn’t have sore feet but to each their own), don’t wear heels as the roads and sidewalks are uneven and often have holes. Bring some snacks for the drive, bring a refillable water bottle. Not much English speaking or English menus but Amy translated easily and quickly. Tasty and cheap food/drink. “Rum Friday” has 15% off rum on frida Amy was 10/10 and I have zero complaints about her as our guide. I would absolutely do another tour with her!!
