Coco Medical And Dental Center

First day in Costa Rica and I ended up at Coco Medical because I was very ill. Dr. Ana Sancho and the other staff members were absolutely wonderful! They were so sweet to me, they all introduced themselves, made me feel extremely comfortable. I had an examination, chest x-rays, lab work, breathing treatments and an IV all because Dr. Sancho wanted to make sure I was good before leaving. She diagnosed me with tonsillitis and acute bronchitis. I was nervous going to a medical facility in another country but the entire staff made me feel welcome and cared about. Even the gentleman outside doing maintenance on the building were very nice in helping me get inside because the door required a handprint. Confusing and neat at the same time. Dr. Sancho went over all my medication & medical conditions to make sure they properly treated me. It was an absolute wonderful experience even though it was sad I was sick the very first day of vacation. The pharmacy was next door and they were sweet and friendly as well. Just an overall wonderful experience. Thank you Dr. Sancho for taking such good care of me!!!

1st time visitors from Canada….one morning in February this year, my husband & I were returning to our condo in Playa Del Coco from the beach. My husband was driving us back with the golf cart rental we had when all of a sudden he starts to pass out while driving! We narrowly missed vehicles while we sailed right through an intersection & busy street, crashing our cart on the other side into a cement trench & both flying from the cart landing on the sidewalk. In shock & husband still unconscious for a couple of minutes, it was a Very traumatic experience! Wonderful kind people gathered and assisted. A kind man drove my husband & I to the Coco Medical & Dental Center. The amazing Dr. Ana & staff wasted not one minute providing attention & treatment immediately. From the tests & assessments taken, Dr. Ana highly recommended my husband be taken to the Clinica Biblica Hospital in San Jose, by ambulance asap. This amazing clinic had immediately taken charge of contacting our insurance company in Canada. I provided the contact information, they did everything & within minutes had authorization from them to transport both of us by ambulance, siren blaring the whole 3.5 hrs away! Everything happened so fast & believe me it was a huge peace of mind that Dr. Ana & a nurse came with us. We will be forever grateful for this wonderful, wonderful care. When we arrived in San Jose at the Clinica Biblica Hospital emergency entrance, this amazing care continued. Dr. Zury Calvo introduced herself & immediately assured us that we are in great hands and they were going to begin multiple tests immediately. Dr. Calvo’s calm, caring greeting and explanation of what they were going to do, was a huge comfort to us. We really felt with such a wonderful atmosphere & Doctor that spoke very good English, we were sent to the best possible place for care. And being able to understand what was going on was huge for us, not being able to speak Spanish. Dr. Calvo also arranged for an awesome colleague, who she said was the best in his field here, Dr. Adrian Lostalo, a Cardiology Specialist. Dr. Lostalo also spoke English and really explained things so well without sounding rushed. What a wonderful experience and comfort to have this team of doctors & staff treat us so kind and genuinely supported. We spent 5 nights in this amazing care facility. I being the patients spouse, had also greatly appreciated Dr. Calvo arranging for a private hospital room with a pull out bed for me to be able to sleep and stay with my husband the entire 5 nights! I made a point of telling Dr. Calvo how much that meant to me because I was quite stressed at the very idea of me having to find a hotel somewhere & commute back & forth to the hospital. Dr. Calvo said she really wants to help minimize the scary situation for people especially coming from outside of Costa Rica. This meant the world to me. Then before being discharged, Dr. Calvo arranged for a driver from a company to transport us back to Playa Del Coco. This was also a very considerate & kind gesture that we greatly appreciated. Overall, my husband & I are extremely grateful for the medical staff and care both at the Coco Medical Center and the Clinica Biblica Hospital. Thank you Costa Rica!

Coco Medical and Dental Center provided an outstanding patient experience for me. The staff was exceptionally kind and organized, quickly fitting me in for a same-day evaluation without an appointment. Dr. Hèctor and Dr. Ana are honestly the most committed doctors I have ever seen! They were attentive, clear, and listened carefully to all of my concerns. The commitment to collaborative care (where they had three doctors evaluating me!) and administrative support (handling insurance payments directly) was remarkable. Their follow-up policy is excellent... Follow Up visits for the same "illness" are NO Charge. Most importantly, Dr. Hèctor messaged me multiple times in the days following my visit, and he came in on his day off (!!) to see me as my condition had not improved. He and Dr. Ana evaluated me again and decided to bring me upstairs to the Dental Center for a dentist to further evaluate me. I cannot say enough about my experience at Coco Medical and Dental Center! You are definitely in good hands there!!
