About
A Mexican restaurant on the Playa del Coco strip where the homemade-tasting desserts and cakes earn the most consistent praise, alongside flavorful, well-seasoned plates like the birria tacos when the kitchen is on. Reviews are split on service and cleanliness, so experiences vary, it's at its best when it's not too busy for the staff.

The food was decent, though nothing particularly memorable. My partner is from Mexico City, and I’ve spent a lot of time there as well, so we’re very familiar with authentic Mexican flavors. The barbacoa tacos were okay — not bad, but not especially noteworthy either. We were hungry and tired, so we ate them and moved on. Our server was kind and clearly doing her best, but she seemed overwhelmed by the number of tables compared to the available staff. What ultimately led me to leave my first negative review ever was the condition of the bathrooms. When our food arrived, I went to wash my hands and was honestly shocked by the state of the sink area. It was extremely unhygienic — to the point that I felt like I would leave with dirtier hands than when I arrived. I didn’t even check the stalls because the sink area alone was enough to turn me away. In my experience, the cleanliness of a restaurant’s bathroom is often a reflection of the care taken in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the restroom here did not inspire confidence. The lighting was poor, the sink area looked dirty, the faucet handle was broken off and difficult to use, and the soap dispenser button wasn’t functioning. I was genuinely hesitant to touch anything before returning to eat my meal. Because of this, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending the restaurant or returning myself. That said, this is something that could be fixed relatively easily. My hope is that the owners read feedback like this and invest a bit of attention and maintenance into the restrooms. A clean, well-maintained bathroom makes a huge difference in how guests perceive the entire establishment.
After being in Playa del Coco all week, I’m not sure how we overlooked this restaurant on the strip. Everything was fantastic—the food was flavorful and perfectly seasoned, the drinks were great, and the desserts were outstanding. Hands down one of the best all-around dining experiences we had, and the desserts definitely taste homemade.
We were referred to this location, but unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The burro was too spicy, exceeding my tolerance, and it made me sick. Despite being fond of spicy food, I found it unbearable. The cakes, however, were enjoyable.
