About
A gelato shop in Playas del Coco where the chocolate flavor gets called incredible and the sorbets are made with real fruit, no fakeness, just creamy depth across flavors like nocciola, rum raisin, and limon. The air-conditioned room is a welcome break from the heat, and staff have gone out of their way for allergies, washing the scooper and steering a nut-allergic guest to safe options.

Note: yes this is long winded, but the tone in this review is not mad, or aggressive. Just bummed at our experience. 🫤 Traveling with my mother and we were excited to get some gelato after dinner tonight. I was eyeballing the chocolate but I love OREO and when I saw it with the pieces on top, I decided to go for it. When I got my scoop, it looked bare and I asked the employee politely if she wouldn’t mind adding one of the cookie chunks on top. She was a bit dismissive and pointed to a lentil shaped piece on the top. I had hoped there was more but when we ate outside, alas, the lentil was it 😞 it was exceptionally sweet but after the fact I realized maybe it was just Oreo flavored—the pieces scattered on top insinuated to me that they would be there some. My mother got rum raisin (with plenty of raisins, and quite good) and chocolate which was INCREDIBLE. I was mad I didn’t order that first, but I love Oreo and it’s a treat I don’t often indulge in. I don’t normally leave less than 5 stars, and I do realize this is a very first world problem. But it’s not just the product, it’s also the experience. My mother and I have fond memories of gelatos in Rome and were really looking forward to this. The employee seemed so annoyed with my existence with such a small ask—it just left us feeling unwelcome. Adding a single chunk of cookie was such a small ask, that would have taken an extra 3 seconds and would have closed out our evening on a nice note. Again, I realize this is a childish ask, but life is hard and a small indulgence is needed from time to time—it costs nothing to be kind. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
nocciola (hazelnut) is sooo good and also highly recommend the limon. The coffee flavor was a bit strong and reminded me of instant coffee but the nocciola made up for it. A little over $7 usd for 1 small & 1 medium
Great gelato place - lots of flavors to pick from, gelato flavors were creamy and hats off to the lady who accommodated our group with a nut allergy! She too special fare by washing the scooper and suggesting the sherbet (berry mix) flavor as it was farther away from other nut flavors! We appreciate the thoughtful suggestion.
