Marea Alta Ocean Adventures

We had an incredible experience with Marea Alta Ocean Adventures. Rolbin, the owner, was amazing from start to finish. My wife is a certified diver but hasn’t been in the water for a couple of years, and he was so patient, supportive, and professional in getting her comfortable again. My friend and I aren’t certified, so we snorkeled at the same spots, which made the trip perfect for all of us. The marine life was unbelievable — we saw puffer fish, turtles, stingrays, moray eels, sharks, and so many tropical fish. Being on a small boat with a customized plan made the whole day feel personal and relaxed. The atmosphere was friendly, safe, and fun, and we never felt rushed. We’ll definitely be booking with Rolbin again on our next trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommended!

I have been on a few boat tours in a few places but haven't enjoyed a tour as much as I did this one! Rolbin is very knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. He is funny and smart and shows you things you might only dream to see. Highly recommend!

Rolbin did a fantastic job with our daughter, who is not certified as a diver. He took her to a pool for training the day before (and allowed the rest of us to reacquaint ourselves with the gear since we hadn’t been diving in 10 years). We all sat in on the class and he covered all the details very well, and made her very comfortable in the water with the gear. For the actual dive trip, it was just our family of four, Rolbin and Michael, the boat captain. It’s a small boat, but we went nice and slow to the dive site, so nobody got bounced around or seasick. We were visiting right as the dry season was starting, so visibility wasn’t as good as we would like, but we still got to see a good bit of wildlife, including a few sharks, turtles, rays, and many fish. Since it was just us, we didn’t have to contend with a bunch of other divers, and we were able to start the trip a little later in the morning at 9am instead of 7am like the larger group dives. The boat is covered so we weren’t baking in the sun, and there was loads of fresh fruit, water and fruit drinks waiting for us when we came up. We also rented almost all our gear, which was in good shape and fit well. Rolbin is very familiar with the area and worked at both a resort and dive shop before getting his own boat. Overall, this was a great way to spend an easy day diving, get our daughter introduced to the sport, and get back underwater!
