A seafood and fish market in Plaza Colonial, Playas del Coco, with a good selection of local fish, snapper, grouper, mahi mahi, wahoo, even swordfish, at prices lower than the grocery store (think a couple of snapper fillets for around nine dollars). The helpful woman running the shop will steer first-timers to the right fillets, even for ceviche. Note it's all frozen rather than fresh-on-ice.

Nice collection of frozen local fish. The nice lady running the shop was plenty helpful to a couple of gringos shopping for multiple meals.
The lady assisting did a great job. Making ceviche for the first time she helped me pick out some fillets. I also picked mahi mahi for the grill.
Snapper was fantastic. Price was very reasonable. $9 USD for 2 fillets
