About
The draw is the view: every table looks out over Coco, the bay and the boats, and the sunsets are among the best in town. The food keeps pace, with the pistachio-herb red snapper, the cauliflower dish and a soup served, surprisingly, in a teapot all singled out, along with the cucumber margarita. Know that the road up is steep and rough, so bring a capable vehicle, but regulars say it's worth it.

One of the best meals we had in Costa Rica. We spent 3 weeks in 3 areas of Costa Rica and this was one of the best. Food was tasty, creative with a great presentation. The servers, Jeremy and ?, were fun and personable. The atmosphere was lovely and each table had an amazing view of the town of Coco and all the boats in the bay. I highly recommend this restaurant. Try the cauliflower dish :)
Very nice and quiet restaurant on a very steep hill. You’ll definitely need a vehicle that can handle a bit of off roading. Food was very good and made fresh to order right behind our table. We got the blackened fish (red snapper catch of the day), NY Strip steak, and the house salad which was shredded cabbage, pickled red onion, thin slices of mango and a light passion fruit dressing, our table of 9 also got a red snapper soup with a lime. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful!
The experience at The Lookout is wonderful. Incredible views, delicious food with beautiful presentation and a staff (front & kitchen) that is friendly, warm and obviously cares about their service and their craft. Parking availability (or at least understanding where to park) can be a little challenging - as is the rough road in. But it's worth it! We keep the recommendation in our Guest Book at Villa Amor Azul in Ocotal as a "must try" dining experience.
