About
A one-person sushi operation where Jai makes everything to order: the tuna tartar, a stack of raw tuna with avocado and fresh mango or pineapple, is the dish people chase, and the poke bowls come big enough to split. Seating is humble, on tables set out by a supermarket, and because it's made fresh you may wait, sometimes a while when it's busy. Regulars say it's worth it.

Had the spring rolls (more like fresh rolls as not deep fried) and tuna tarter nachos. Both were made fresh and excellent. Tarter had a very generous portion. As everything is made to order you will have to wait if there are people ahead of you but it is so worth it.
Very good quality food but it can take a while as this seems to be a single person operation. We did order a lot of sushi (for 4 adults and 4 kids), but ready in "some time" turned out to be 1.5 hours... Poke bowls are large servings: you could probably split one unless you're starving. Also, bizarrely, they notified us an hour into prep that they didn't have chicken and we'd need to pick a different protein. Not sure if I'll return but you should give him a shot!
This place is a hidden gem in the tourist zone of El Coco Beach. The guy is super nice and makes fresh sushi that’s amazing and the bowls are super refreshing too. The ambience is a bit scant, you eat on benches right outside a busy local supermarket. But that did not bother us at all. We in fact went to the store to buy the drinks we had with our sushi! This is a must eat place if you anywhere in Guanacaste and heading to El coco and surrounding places. Check more of Costa Rica on our Khanadians Instagram account.
