Boos Adventures is the real deal. Christian’s team were highly recommended by the RipJack Inn and we booked them for fishing and surfing. Our half-day of fishing was a blast. Captain Walter and his son Ariel were fantastic. We ended up with three tuna mackerel, a jack, a blue runner and a gorgeous Mahi on a day when all the other boats were skunked. The boat is super nice and comfortable, the snacks and beverages were perfect (thanks for the Breda!) and the company was super fun. Our family of four had an amazing time.

We booked a 4 hour fishing trip through Christian based on all of the positive reviews I read online. They are right, Christian is great to work with and we had a great experience fishing. Communication from the very beginning was excellent. Our morning fishing was really fun. We were doubled up on tuna within the first 10 minutes we were out. We trolled and also drifted with live bait. Joshua, the captain on our boat, worked the entire time we were out there to keep us on fish. We caught tuna, mackerel, and a jack. Plenty of drinks provided and had some fresh pineapple and also salsa and chips for snacks. Wish we weren't going home in 2 days or we would book a 2nd day with Boos! Highly recommend!

We booked Boos Adventures in April 2026 for a 4-hour Fishing Charter trip. As Canadians traveling to Costa Rica, we were excited for an interactive experience, but unfortunately, it felt more like a spectator sport. For a cost of over $800 USD, the lack of engagement was inexcusable. The Experience: Lack of Participation: We spent 85% of the trip trolling in circles, east of Playa Flamingo. When a fish did bite, the first mate would grab the rod without a word, reel it in himself, and reset the line. When we asked (once) to reel in ourselves, he condescendingly questioned, "Do you know what you're doing?" Unacceptable! The Catch: We only saw three small silver baitfish (12-15 inches). Two were kept for bait and one was tossed back. To be clear, fishing is never guaranteed...it is the experience that is disappointing. Service: The first mate spent most of the trip sitting near the head on his phone and vaping. Aside from being served some pineapple/chips, there was very little hospitality with limited interaction. Bottom Line: With only four people on board, we expected a professional, hands-on experience. Instead, we felt like we were on a ride along. If you are looking for an interactive fishing trip where you actually get to participate, I would suggest looking for a different charter.
