About
Beachfront camping steps from a long, mostly deserted stretch of Playa Potrero — that location is the reason to come, and Didi's warm, helpful welcome is the second. Expect basic: there are showers, toilets, electricity, and lights for setting up after dark, but several campers report the facilities need repair and updating, the surf is genuinely loud at night — earplugs recommended — and the site isn't fenced, so keep valuables inside your tent. Quieter than other camping along the road, with the ocean right there.

It’s a three because Didi and co. were very friendly and helpful. There are showers (in great disrepair), a sink (that drains out into your feet) and lights that can help you set up in the dark if you need to. Overall, The facility is lacking. The beach is close and long and mostly deserted. The surf is loud. I feel like this needs caps. THE SURF IS LOUD! Earplugs for sleeping recommended. I didn’t have any expectations for this place, so I wasn’t let down. Some necessary repairs and TLC could have this place shining and a real destination for the area. When we were here, there was an old Nissan washed up on the beach, so careful of that. Please let me know if it’s still there :) C
The location right by the beach was amazing. Everything else unfortunately was very disappointing: it was the most expensive campsite we stayed at in Costa Rica (5000 Colones per person), we tried to avoid using the toilet and ended up buying things in restaurants to use the toilets there instead(no toilet seat, shared with the family, flush rarely used, no toilet paper, no soap, no sewage for the grey water, wet floor, big frog, no lock…), the benches to sit on were unstable/shaking. They actually burned their trash/leaves right next to us so all our stuff now smells terrible and needs washing.
Quieter than other camping on the road. Very nice owner, has a shower, and is a good price
