About
Guests keep describing the same feeling: staff who greet you by first name, help over WhatsApp before you even arrive, and book horseback rides and animal sanctuary visits on a day's notice. The gated property is lush with tropical trees and flowers — howler monkeys showed up three nights running for one guest — with a pool, a simple but delicious outdoor restaurant, and some of the best in-room coffee around. Flamingo Beach is within walking distance, and solo travelers say they felt genuinely safe and cared for here.

The customer service at this hotel was stellar. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly and immediately felt comfortable. Multiple staff addressed me by first name even just in passing to say hello, which was a sweet touch. What stood out for me was their assistance through WhatsApp, both before and during my stay. They booked me a really fun horseback riding tour prior to my stay, and an animal sanctuary trip literally the day before I wanted to go with no issue. Of all the hotels I stayed in, they also had the best coffee in the rooms (1820!). The property is gated and requires a clicker to access after 6 pm, so it also feels incredibly safe. Would stay here again!
My stay at Casas del Toro was absolutely perfect! A quick drive to some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches (and in walking distance to Flamingo Beach, one of my favorites) the hotel is perfectly situated. My room was spacious, spotless and had a well-appointed kitchenette, which was a plus, although I didn’t use it much—opting instead to eat at the hotel’s outdoor restaurant. (The food is simple but delicious.) What I love most about Casas del Toro is its friendly vibe. The staff was very patient and helpful as I practiced speaking Spanish with them, always with a smile. The hotel’s grounds are lush with tropical trees and flowers—I didn’t want to leave! (And twice I didn’t—choosing to kick back at the pool instead.) I’m definitely coming back to Casas del Toro!
I adored my stay at Casas Del Toro and whole heartedly recommend staying with them. As a female solo traveling internationally, all of the staff made me feel safe, cared for, and at ease. Each staff member went out of their way to ensure reliable transportation and helped booked the most affordable outings. I speak broken Spanish but most staff spoke in English or were kind and patient enough to help me practice speaking Spanish. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The landscaping is out of this world; beautiful plants and flowers everywhere you look. There were even howler monkeys hanging out in the trees 3 nights in a row! The restaurant on site has delicious food that is made to order. They were even kind enough to make takeaway for me for a day I couldn't make dinner. The hotel has a gate and security cameras throughout with a watchful eye from reception. I simply cannot say enough good things.
