Castillo de Lilo

The drive up is treacherous like any mountain road in Costa Rica. The last turn seems like is 45° up hill. We did a little prayer n hoped the car wouldn't roll back. A welcome bar was nice when we finally made it up. Nice touch. They offered mimosa which I thought I was strange for a sunset drink. Usually mimosa is a morning drink. I had mine wo oj. The view is breathtaking, the service is shaving. But let's talk about the void. Mediocre at best. I'm a New Yorkers so I'm used to the best. I had lobster. It was from frozen, I'm surprised. it's was mushy like baby food. My friends also had the lobster n they were timid about sending it back. Well For o $155 price I don't want mushy lobster. They were good about replacing it w beef. The reservations fee was $225 and supposedly pay pal takes $75? The deposit wasn't taken off the bill. Bc each person is $155. I feel monetized. Takes away from the beautiful story of the castle. The staff was amazing. The view great But the meal mediocre n the uncharged on the reservation That's why I give 3 stars n the cocktail are $18 after yr free one.

If I could give Castillo de Lilo more than 5 stars, I would without hesitation. This place is truly the best in the world. The view is absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunset. Watching the sun go down from this location felt unreal, like something out of a movie. It created the most magical atmosphere for such a special moment in our lives. The organization was flawless from start to finish. Every single detail was handled with care, professionalism and genuine passion. The food was outstanding and the fact that it was personally prepared by the owner Marco, made the experience even more special. You can truly taste the dedication and love in every bite. The hospitality from the entire staff was beyond anything we could have imagined. A very special thank you to Emma, who went above and beyond to make my engagement turn out like a dream. She made sure everything was perfect, and thanks to her, this will be a memory we will cherish forever. I am grateful beyond words to everyone at Castillo de Lilo. I highly recommend this place to absolutely everyone. You will not find a more beautiful, professional, and heartfelt experience anywhere else in the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Our stay at Castillo de Lilo for a bachelor party was nothing short of amazing. The property is gorgeous, private, and perfect for a group celebration. A special shoutout to Tony, the bartender, whose cocktails and personality made the experience truly exceptional—he brought incredible energy and helped create memories we’ll never forget. Marco, the head chef, delivered exceptional meals throughout our stay and elevated the entire experience. An outstanding destination in Costa Rica.
