The smoothie and açaí bowls are the headline — huge, fresh, consistently made, and good enough that multiple travelers came back every single morning of their stay. Waffles, pancakes, a salmon bagel, and properly crispy bacon round out breakfast; the honey latte and matcha latte get their own mentions. Service is fast and genuinely kind — staff have brought out samples to try, and Levina is thanked by name. Relaxed outdoor seating, sometimes with live music. Several reviewers call it one of their favorite spots in Flamingo.

We went to Hibiscus Cafe four times during our stay in Flamingo and it was fantastic every single time. We ordered açaí and smoothie bowls on each visit and they were always super fresh, delicious, and a great size for the price. The ingredients taste high quality and the bowls are consistently made. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us want to keep coming back. The outdoor seating is very cute and relaxed, perfect for enjoying a bowl in the Costa Rica sunshine. Clean, quick, and consistently excellent. Easily one of our favorite spots in Flamingo and a must visit if you are in the area.
The staff here are so kind and considerate. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and everything we were able to try was! The honey latte, the smoothie bowls, the waffles, the smoothies, would definitely go back. Oh! They also had live music when we went which really made for an excellent vibe!
We had tea/coffee/smoothies/breakfast at Hibiscus Cafe every morning we stayed in Playa Flamingo and we highly recommend. Drinks (matcha latte, mocha, vanilla latte), food (acai bowls, salmon bagel, pancakes, waffles, and bacon-crispy!) and service (Levina) were all great.
