We stopped here for a quick breakfast on the way to go scuba diving. Food was excellent so we came back another time to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. While the lady did not speak English, she was excellent and we easily communicated with Google Translate. Great food, great corner spot to watch the town pass by. Try the salsa on the table, very good.
If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience, La Yama is where you should eat! The food came out piping hot because it was freshly made for every order. Their pico was delicious and spicy! You will not be disappointed.
Is the place nice? No. Is the service great? Hmm, not exactly. Is the food fantastic? Absolutely — and it's priced better than almost everywhere else in Playa Potrero. I kept walking past it. Something about the vibe made me hesitate. Finally tried it on one of my last meals in the area, and that's the only thing I regret. Don't make my mistake — go early, go often.
