La Quebrada Lodge

Stayed in La Quebrada for a little over 1 week, cannot recommend it enough!!! Carmen and Christian work super hard to make this place a small paradise for their guests, and they’re doing it perfectly. We immediately felt at home thanks to their warm welcome, the quietness of the lodge and the quality and comfort of the rooms/bungalows and amenities. It’s a fairly small place, with less than 10 rooms, which makes it very homey and never too crowded or noisy. The pool is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in a hotel, always perfectly clean, like the garden around the lodge, thanks to their constant efforts to keep it pristine. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, the AC works perfectly and the jungle shower is a really nice experience! Again, everything is super clean and tidy, yet has a lot of character. We’d definitely come back! Thank you so much for making our stay in Costa Rica so special!!!!

My sister and I spent four days at this resort.. It was a bit off the beaten path a 10 minute walk to the ocean and we were not anticipating this and we were concerned. But after staying here it is one of our favorite places. The 10 minute walk to the beach was easy and we like to walk several miles each morning anyway and there is also a wonderful restaurant when you get to the beach. The resort has a beautiful pool that we enjoyed every day and the owners of this resort made us feel so special. They made us breakfast each morning. They drove us into flamingo, which was too far to walk and we did not rent a car. They also allowed us to rent their car. The little hut we stayed in was beautiful. The bedroom is in an Air conditioned area. The kitchen and the reading area is open to the outdoors but is also private! The only recommendation I have is that if you are not big walkers, you will want to rent a car. My sister and I cannot recommend any better host and hostess at any resort we’ve been! They were absolutely the best!

I found La Quebrada Lodge on Booking.com (but would recommend you to book directly with them - booking.com is asking for a huge commission) and I'm super satisfied having booked it. We've been there by end of November 2025 and lived in the bungalow "Rincon de la Vieja" (all Bungalows are named after volcanos in Costa Rica which is a lovely idea). The room was incredibly comfortable (bed is super comfy!) and equipped with a fridge (outside the bedroom), AC for a good rest at any temperature, bathroom is outside which I personally like very much! Taking a shower in the rainforest feels always better than in an inhouse shower :-)! Breakfast is served if you order it via WhatsApp, which worked great for us. We didn't use the spa area or booked any trips, as it was on the end of our 3-week vacation and we got a bit lazy to be honest - so I cannot say anything about their organisation - BUT, we ran a flat tire and got great help from them! They even guided us to a tire repair shop, which I'm super thankful for as my spanish isn't good enough. The surrounding beaches are not very far away - just be careful if you take a plunch due to rip currents! I forgot to mention the pool which is nice and gets daily cleaned. The lodge itself is secured by an electronically locked fence - so you and your belongings are definitely safe here! I can totally recommend this Ecolodge and will come back once we return to Costa Rica!
