Sentido Norte

Our experience at Sentido Norte was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Costa Rica! First, the views are spectacular - the elevated perspective, incredibly colorful sunset, and beautiful landscape were breathtaking!! We started our evening with wine on the bar side watching the sunset and were taken to our reserved dining spot on the other side of the restaurant afterward. For dinner, we had the Baked Norwegian Salmon and Baked Seabass - all very well done! I especially enjoyed the pairing of the creamy pappardelle with pistachio pesto with the salmon. The evening completed with a birthday celebration for my girlfriend, which like every other aspect of this place was beautifully done! It’s clear why Sentido Norte was voted one of the most romantic restaurants by CNN Travel! A few additional things to note: 1. The travel to Sentido Norte is not smooth - lots of potholes and narrow sharp turns - very careful! 2. If you have time to arrive early and enjoy the town of Las Catalinas, do so! It’s a small, quaint, and beautifully growing town with many nicely architected buildings.

Stunning views while enjoying your meal. We really enjoyed the food and drinks. One suggestion would be to sit people at a table if they are eating dinner. There was no option when making the reservation and the three tiny tables and bench were pretty uncomfortable.

Since returning from Costa Rica, I haven't been able to say enough good things about Sentido Norte (and Casa Chameleon generally!), but I will say a few extraordinary memories here. The restaurant staff is AMAZING. They knew our names within our first 24 hours of staying at the resort. Randy was our amazing server each morning for breakfast. By our second breakfast, he knew that I drink my coffee iced with simple syrup and that my husband drinks his hot coffee with "a splash" of milk. We ate almost every meal at Sentido Norte during our week-long stay at Casa Chameleon. My husband and I enjoyed all of the menu items we tried, especially the watermelon juice, breakfast burrito, plantain chips and guacamole appetizer, tuna at lunch, and lamb at dinner. Their cocktails are amazing, too. I loved the Chameleon Lemonade and my husband's favorite was the Tico Sour. And their cafe tres leches is a MUST try. Delicious. The staff truly treated us like royalty. They are some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met. We hope our paths cross with them again. A special shoutout to all the hard work from Randy, Brandon, Bryan, Dahiana, Denisse, Carlos (at the bar), Carlos (the manager!), and Victor. Oh, and the views (both daytime and nighttime) are STUNNING!
