About
A small family soda in the heart of Potrero where the older couple who run it treat you like a guest in their home — helping decode the menu, checking on every plate, even offering to make a Costa Rican dessert specially for a returning visitor. The casados come in plenty of variations, the fish gets called delicious over and over, and breakfast here means watching the town go by — produce sellers, a football game across the street. A simple place with honest prices and real heart.

This place felt like such a special find—truly off the beaten path. It’s a very small "soda", and immediately you can feel the heart in it. The grandmother and grandfather running it were absolutely darling—so warm and welcoming, it felt like being invited into their home. The food was excellent. The vegan option was simple, and everything I had was fresh and delicious. The others with me had the fish and could not stop saying how good it was....simply delicious, delicious, delicious. If you’re looking for something authentic, heartfelt, and truly memorable, I highly recommend this spot. Visited August 2024.
After reading all the amazing reviews we were a little disappointed with the food, it was really average and quite expensive for what it was. 20 USD for two plates. The location is ok, no view, but a authentic feel and vibe. Wouldn't necessarily return.
First off the food is delicious but I'll get back to that. The owners of this place are super nice, just exceptional service. We got help understanding the menu, got offered suggestions on foods. On our second stop here we asked if they had any Costa Rican dessert and were told no, but we were told the next time we come they could make it just for us. Each time we ordered food we were asked how it was, they truly care and do a good job here. The casados are delicious and lots of options. The menu has large variety, Costa Rican and American foods. And the location does not get better than this. Hard to beat these prices too. A Crime not to stop by here.
