About
Bungalows behind a gate a couple hundred meters off Potrero's main road, on lush, well-kept grounds with a pool, hammocks, covered lounges and an outdoor shower. Mornings arrive with howler monkeys; days bring iguanas, birds, the dogs and the owners' pig wandering the garden. The beach, restaurants, coffee and fruit stands are all a short walk, with Playa Penca and Playa Prieta walkable too. It is a small, personal operation run over WhatsApp, and one reviewer called it the best room under 100 dollars in three weeks of travel.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. A couple hundred meters off the main road, it doesn't seem auspicious, but inside the gate are lovely bungalows on pretty, well-kept grounds. We found our bungalow as expected, clean, and comfortable. I write this from the delightful front porch. This morning I lay in bed to the sound of howler monkeys. The owners' pig roaming the grounds is a wonderful bonus. Note that it is a small operation, so if you want lots of attention and service, this place isn't for you. Also, the owners strongly prefer to use WhatsApp, which I don't have (or want to have), which is a bit of an inconvenience. For a nice spot within an easy walk to the beach and some restaurants, though, I'd recommend.
We had a wonderful week at Villas Pura Vibra. The villa had everything we needed including a a private and comfortable front porch. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil and well kept grounds and pool. It was highly entertaining to watch the monkeys, iguanas and beautiful birds as well as the dogs and the resident pig. It was a short walk to the beach, restaurants, grocery stores and fruit stands. The area has lots to offer and there are other nearby beaches worth exploring that are not too far. We walked to Playa Penca and Playa Prieta, both have great sand and clear water. Playa Prieta also has lots of natural shade.
We had a great two night stay at Villas Pura Vibra. The owners were very attentive and proactive during our stay offering recommendations to beaches and restaurants in the area. The property was lovely and exceeded expectations. The grounds had mature trees, a refreshing pool, and an outdoor shower all of which was well maintained. There is a small bar area that looks like it is used sometimes although we did not partake during our stay. It was stocked with books and games. There are several covered lounge areas near the pool. We also loved the location because it was walkable to coffee, shops, and restaurants in the beach. We were also given the option of a basic breakfast as a supplement request for an additional fee, which was nice to have the option if we chose. We would definitely stay here again. Pura vida!
