Waffles are the whole job here, and reviewers say they are done right: light and fluffy inside with a caramelized outer layer, from the chocoholic to the big-breakfast build with famously chewy-crunchy bacon. The coffee earned best-I-have-tasted-in-the-country praise from one traveler, the passion fruit slushy has its own fan club, and there are gluten-free options and air conditioning inside. Regulars call a stop here the minimum every time they pass through Flamingo, and prices strike reviewers as fair by Costa Rica standards.

Amazing! My son scooped this place out and we decided to stop in. We had a waffle with strawberries and bananas. The waffle was incredibly light, fluffy, with a caramelized outer layer which was delectable. They serve fresh coffee and expresso, best coffee I’ve tasted since visiting the country. It was so good that I grabbed an ice coffee to go. The service was quick, staff were friendly, and hospitable. If you’re feeling like a monkey, give waffle monkey a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing! Perfect service. Perfect atmosphere, you can dine inside with AC on hot days and the music playing was so good! Perfect tasting waffles. That's all they do for food here is waffles and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the "chocoholic" which was sooooo good for chocolate lovers (8/10) but I tried my wife's "the big breakfast" which was easily 4 points higher! Literally off the charts (12/10)!!! Can't wait to go back tomorrow and order there again. Food prices in costa rica are outrageous but here they are fair. Also they had the gluten free options too.
By far the best place I ate the whole time I was in costa rica.Also, best waffles, i've ever had in my entire life , anywhere. Super helpful staff as well. We had some questions about places to go and see. If I ever come back to Costa Rica we'll definitely be stopping at a Waffle Monkey!🧇🐒
