WetAss II Sportfishing

I can’t say enough good things about the Wet Ass team! From the owner to the captains and crew, everyone was incredible energetic, personable, and very informative. They made the entire experience feel comfortable and fun, almost like being at home on the water. We booked two separate days of fishing, and both were unforgettable. The first day was offshore with Captain Glenn, who was absolutely outstanding. He didn’t just put us on the fish he captained the boat back up to the fight, making it both easier and more exciting at the same time. The crew that day, First Mate Dennis and deckhand Liam, kept the energy high with great conversation and plenty of laughs. We even got to enjoy a delicious home cooked Costa Rican chicken and rice meal, simple but prepared so well it was the perfect snack while fishing. Our second day was inshore with Captain Dennis at the helm. Once again, the fishing and crew were fantastic. Captain Dennis did a great job keeping the trip engaging and successful. I also want to highlight the owner, who went above and beyond. She handled all the setup seamlessly, answered every question along the way, and even topped off the experience by sending the merch we purchased right to our door. Overall, I give this team a full 5 stars. It was an amazing experience from start to finish, with a crew that truly loves what they do. Highly recommend this is something everyone should experience at least once!

We had multiple friends recommend WetAss Sportfishing and even had some nice enough to share the fresh mahi they caught last year, so this year we decided to book a trip for ourselves. From start to finish, the experience was amazing. Communication with Vicky was super easy. She answered all of our questions (and I had a lot as this was our first real sportfishing trip). There was a lot of wind the day of our trip but it didn’t affect us at all as the Captain guided us to the south to a more sheltered prime fishing spot and it definitely worked because we caught so many fish! Thanks to our captain and crew, we were able to catch 13 sailfish, 3 mahi and a tuna! It was so much action that every time we sat down for a beer there was another one on the line before we could finish it. The captain and crew were so great. We are not super experienced with sportfishing but the guys did a great job of helping us get the fish in. They even used our gopro to film us when we both were working to bring in two at a time, so we had great footage of the fight. We released everything except 2 of the mahis which they cleaned and fileted for us immediately after catching so we had super fresh fish to enjoy the next few days of our trip. We were super comfortable on the boat. There is a cabin below but we spent most of the day up top under the shade for the ride out and back. They had everything we needed on the boat for a great day including cold water, beer, snacks and a nice lunch of arroz con pollo, which was also interrupted to bring in more fish! Great day…can’t wait plan another trip with our nephews next time!

WetAss II is the best fishing vessel in the pacific! Captain Glen & Deck hand Dennis are top notch and made the trip super enjoyable. You can tell captain Glen has many years of experience and put us on fish all day long. We caught 3 tuna, 1 sailfish and raised a blue marlin. We are already planning a second trip!
