About
The café people are relieved to find in the Puntarenas heat — a plant-filled space with a terrace and a much-needed air-conditioned room, strong coffee and house-made pastries. The kitchen turns out brunch worth sitting down for: panko-and-coconut Camarones Caribeños, house potatoes, salmon salad, and a pistachio cake reviewers keep naming. Service is attentive and unhurried.

We desperately needed a coffee , discovered this place . We didn’t eat here just had dessert and coffee. Coffee is great , enjoyed it so much we returned a second time .
We went to Salty Dog for brunch on Mother's Day. It has few tables, comfortable chairs and lots of plants. The menu has contemporary dishes, wide variety of coffee and fruit drinks and pastry made in house. The Camarones Caribeños were breaded in panko and coconut and fried perfectly. They came with 2 sauces - a spicy one and a creamy one. The potatoes were made in house and were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The salmon salad was generous with perfectly cooked salmon. The pistachio cake was the best way to end the meal. Service was attentive and unhurried.
This is hands down the only place in the area I would recommend. It has a beautiful terrace and a (much needed) air conditioned area inside which is delightfully designed, modern and clean. The ambiance and the staff are top notch, they give you all the smiles and cool vibes you’d expect from a five star cafe. Their wide range of frappuccinos and matchas is unparalleled!
