Called into this soda for a light lunch and ended up with one of the best meals we had in our 3 week visit to Costa Rica. They recommended the ceviche to us but we’d never had it before so stuck with prawns - we weren’t quite sure what style of prawns we were ordering as I speak pigeon Spanish and they only speak Spanish (fair enough we were in a Spanish speaking country!) They are possible the best prawns I’ve ever had, and there were 24 of them - each! And they were huge! She insisted we try the ceviche as we’d never had it before - in for a penny, in for a pound! So we did - she didn’t charge us - very generous as we both got a small dish each. It was delicious and I mean REALLY delicious. We left with very full stomachs and didn’t eat for the rest of the day! Muchas gracias senora.
We stopped there by chance on our way to the ferry terminal for a quick bite. Since the chicken and rice wasn't available, the friendly blonde waitress – perhaps she was the owner – recommended the camarones, saying they were "world-class" (I only speak a few words of Spanish)... well, what can I say? She wasn't exaggerating! I've never had such delicious and generous portions of camarones (prawns) before. So, despite the simple setting, five stars! Thank you so much! 😋
Good service, delicious food and a good price
