A small-group operator whose Tárcoles River crocodile tour gets the repeat praise — guests spot American crocodiles, scarlet macaws and capuchin monkeys, with guides Ally and Marcos singled out for encyclopedic local knowledge. The 12-person van, and an included lunch, beats the big-bus experience. A knowledgeable, personable way to see the river's wildlife.

We did the Crocodile Tour on the Tarcoles River and it was great. Our tour guide, Marcos, did a fantastic job of finding macaws to get photos and shared his knowledge of the area. We saw lots of crocodiles. The tour included a delicious lunch. We enjoyed the smaller mini van shared by 12 people. It was much better than the large big bus experience.
The tour was really superb! My wife Susan, son Seth, and I booked this tour, and our guide Ally - and our driver Marcos - were absolutely wonderful. Ally had an encyclopedic knowledge about Costa Rica (which she kindly shared), and she and Marcos took us to some amazing places, including a gathering spot for American crocodiles and an encampment of capuchin monkeys.
