Best Western Hotel & Casino Kamuk

We were a bit hesitant to book at Quepo's Best Western due to some reviews, but we ended up liking the place very much. The hotel, although a tiny bit dated, is very well maintained and has a tropical, colonial charm. Our room (#224) was spacious and very clean. The shower had excellent cold and hot water pressure. The AC worked perfect. On one side, we had the cute pool view, on the other the road that divides the hotel and the ocean walk (malecón). We had a bit of traffic noise before going to bed (some motorbikes like to hang out around the hotel casino/sports bar), but nothing outrageous (unless you're a very light sleeper or very sensitive to noise, which is not our case). Breakfast was also better than expected (they give you a menu and you can choose from a nice selection), nothing out of this world but enough to keep you going in the morning (eggs, toasts, fruits & coffee). The personnel at the lobby were also very helpful and kept our luggages for a few hours. Plus, the hotel is really close to downtown (for cheap, local food try the Mercado Central's soda "Come Bien"), the really neat and modern Marina (cool American restaurants), and the bus stops to Manuel Antonio (only $1 to hit the beach, about 15-20 minutes away). So... yeah, we recommend! :) P&J

The location is beautiful and right by the beach, which was a big plus for us. The rooms were very clean, and our kids absolutely loved spending time in the pool. Having an ice cream shop right at the entrance was a fun bonus! It’s right on the main shopping area so you can hang around. There is a coffee shop nearby which was fantastic. However, the breakfast was very underwhelming and didn’t meet our expectations. The showers also felt quite dated, and there was a significant amount of water wastage every time I took a shower, which was disappointing.

Nice place with some good food spots around the area. Please be aware that I had items stolen (cash and clothes) from my room via cleaning services; the same will probably happen if you stay here. I definitely suggest going somewhere else if you do not want people going through your things!
