About
The adventure starts with an hour's drive through palm plantations and river crossings deep into the jungle, then opens into zip-lines, rappelling, and a Tarzan swing, with butterfly, snake, and crocodile exhibits along the way. Guides — Roy, Dennis, and Dylan come up again and again — keep it safety-first and genuinely funny, and Dylan's photos and videos are worth buying. A fresh Costa Rican lunch, handmade on site, closes it out.

We were fortunate to book through Canopy Safari, and they did not disappoint. While transportation is provided, we had our own vehicle and the drive to the site set the tone for the adventure. Traveling through palm plantations, past farms and river basins, crossing bridges, made the experience feel authentic and natural as we worked our way into the jungle. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and energetically by the staff. Roy and Dennis were the first we met, and although Spanish is their first language, their English was excellent and communication was effortless. They guided us through the butterfly aviary, pointed out various snakes, and shared detailed and interesting information along the way, even introducing us to three crocodiles before fueling us with delicious, ripe local fruit and making sure everyone was hydrated. Then the real adventure began. We’ve zip-lined in Whistler, Canada, and other locations, all of which were fantastic, but this experience was truly a gem. The combination of zip lines, rappelling, and an incredible Tarzan swing made it unforgettable. Throughout the entire experience, our three guides Roy, Dennis, and Dylan were outstanding. Dylan captured amazing photos and videos, while Roy and Dennis ensured everyone felt completely safe and comfortable on the platforms and lines. Their professionalism, calm confidence, engaging conversations, and genuine connection with both us and our kids made a huge difference. The included meal was authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious, well deserved after burning so much energy during the adventure. What really sets Canopy Safari apart is the passion and pride every staff member brings. You can see it in their smiles, laughter, and the way they interact with guests. This is an experience we’ll look back on fondly for years, and if we’re lucky enough to return to this region of Costa Rica, we would absolutely rebook without hesitation. An unforgettable experience from start to finish.
Me and my family (6 although) had a great experience rafting down the “savage” river! Christopher (aka Flippy) was a great personality during the drive there. Sharing his knowledge and humor along the way. We had Kenny as a rafting guide. Super fun and nice guy who had patience with my kids. Very knowledgeable about everything we saw and asked. The rafting was great fun for all of us (rating 2-3 rapids). Never scary or dangerous. The mid break hike leading to a waterfall was refreshing and very beautiful. They had snacks ready for us (pineapple, mango, papaya, cookies, and water) when we were done. They literally do nearly all the work. You just listen and paddle when they tell you too. Great drive (Diego the driver did great) to the launch and back to the lunch spot. The food at the hotel…hostel? Was really good. I recommend the tuna. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend it!
This tour was amazing. Takes about an hour to drive into the jungle but once you get there it’s beautiful and the zip lines are awesome. You finish off with a rappel into the bottom of a waterfall (not deep)….. and then they have lunch ready for you before the drive back down. Very well put together. Great guides.
