I came in and told them about tooth pain and asked for a painkiller (just one). I’ve been buying them in Costa Rica for 500 colones each (1 dollar per pil). They recommended to take 2 pills 3 days in a row (6 pills) I agreed, then she wanted to charge me 15.000 (!) colones (30 dollars for 6 painkillers). I said that’s not normal, please give me your most basic painkiller and still they wanted to charge 2 dollars per pill. I thanked, went to the pharmacy next door and bought them for 500 colones each, as it should. Please think and be aware of the price they’re trying to sell you before you pay.

I was charged 110 pounds for a packet of Setraline.When I complained I was told by the manager that I could not return the pills (as I had not started taking them) I think that it is outrageous to charge that amount.I cannot afford it on my pension.It has made me very angry and upset,I don't know how I will manage with such a large sum taken from my pension.Shame on you!

Beware. Neither economical nor ethical. This pharmacy is dirty and abusive. My husband has a condition for which he needs an operation later this month, and he had a crisis of acute pain. When he realized he had forgotten to pack his medication, our hotel offered us this pharmacy which has express delivery service. My husband made the mistake of saying “Charge me whatever you want, I just need something for the pain!” The staff member Emma took full advantage of that and charged us $47. They sent one medication that my husband requested, but the one the pharmacist recommended was not appropriate for treating his symptoms. We checked online, and it did not treat the most important symptom, so we contacted them again and asked for the right medication. The hotel intervened and found out that they did not give us a receipt, so after a lot of hassling and resistance, the pharmacy took nearly two hours to send over the right medication with a receipt reflecting what they charged us. When I say cheated us, it is because the amount that is marked as “change” returned to the client was actually kept by the pharmacy! They kept $47 of the $50 we paid. I attach a photo of the receipt and the change they gave us. They took full advantage of a tourist who was suffering an episode of acute pain and was therefore not thinking clearly. On top of that, they charged us twice for the express delivery when it was the pharmacist’s mistake. Not only that, but she is supposed to be a pharmacist who take care of people’s health, the fact she recommended the wrong medication should not be taken lightly. But her decision to charge us twice for the delivery as well as keep most of the change is repugnant.
