About
Off a dirt road at the edge of the jungle, Jiuberths is a local seafood spot where the ceviche gets called the best travelers have ever tasted and the Plato Mariscopo piles up calamari, jumbo shrimp, and fried fish. The chef doubles as a painter, so his artwork fills the walls, and monkeys often turn up outside. It's cash only and authentically no-frills, check the bill, then settle in.

The fish was fresh (I had the whole red snapper). The ceviche is the best I've ever tasted. The only thing I didn't like was that I paid a whole lot more than I calculated ($10 more) even when including the 13.4% tax and 10% service fee. They also only accept cash and didn't give a receipt to show how they came up with calculation. Keep in mind they have a lock on the gate into the restaurant and lock you in while eating which maybe a safety thing for them but struck a nerve in me. I was going to come back but not once I felt taken advantage off.
Local place where to eat good fish and seafood at low budget. It's a simple location, but on the other hand cozy and the owners are nice and friendly. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, out of the tourist's standards, but comfortable and authentic.
Absolutely amazing place! I Would give them more stars if I could. Slightly out of the way of the rest of town and traffic, it presents a beautiful view of the surrounding jungle. They also have lots of gorgeous artwork on the walls and ceiling. The ceviche was phenomenal. If we were in the area longer we would absolutely be back. Keep in mind they do not accept credit cards so bring colonés! 6 mil for 2 plates of great civeché 😋🤤
