Kikazaru Boutique Hotel

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Kika Zaru. Eva and her dad were incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Don’t let the negative Google reviews fool you — they don’t reflect the true quality of this boutique hotel. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, the staff was consistently helpful, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. If you’re visiting Manuel Antonio, we highly recommend staying here. This spot is neither a hotel nor “boutique,” so beware of labels. It’s fine if you’re ok with some routine discomfort: circuit breaking in the middle of the night and losing A/C (luckily we were able to fix this on our own), no working toilet or shower on our last day, etc. Owners may or may not respond to your messages/concerns—there’s no one on site, which is why the label of “hotel” is questionable. Also, the room looks cute but is surprisingly uncomfortable. And while there’s a kitchen, there are literally two plates (no bowls), two cups, and a few utensils—so don’t come here thinking you can cook meals to save money. On the plus side, the deck is charming and the staff who prepares breakfast is nice. (You will get the same small breakfast every day: eggs, rice/beans, and some fruit.)

The place was perfect for all our needs. Not the nicest but we felt very safe and clean. There was insects in our room when we got there but after staying in it for a night we had no issues. The host is amazing, very responsive and helpful. They gave great recommendations and offered to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was wonderful. For the price this is an amazing choice.
