About
Beginners start in the pool learning technique, then head to a secluded beach, which reviewers name as Isla Damas, where nearly everyone stands up on the first wave. Instructors like Marlon are singled out for patient, generous coaching, and the day includes fresh pineapple and coconut, a traditional lunch, and monkeys and macaws around the property between Quepos and Manuel Antonio.

Absolute best family experience! Took the time to teach us proper technique in the pool, then a short trip to a very private beach, we were the only ones for miles. Everyone got up on the first wave, and the kids didn't want to stop. Fantastic family activity, can't recommend highly enough.
We booked a beginner class at MASS for our first time surfing and had a blast! Their team was so helpful and supportive, ensuring you have a safe and fun experience. The beach where you surf is off the beaten path and absolutely stunning!
Unforgettable week in Costa Rica!! All of the staff at MASS were amazing, making me feel welcome before I even arrived, flawlessly assisting with transportation and excursions. The location is ideal, situated between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, only a short, convenient bus ride to either town. Though the traffic noise could be slightly bothersome at times in the afternoon, the abundant flor and fauna and exquisite mountain views of CR made up for it. A highlight for me was viewing macaws, toucans, parakeets, and squirrel monkeys, all while enjoying the delicious complimentary breakfast. Also, the restaurant offered reasonable local cuisine lunch and dinner options in generous portions. Also, if you want to learn to surf, choose MASS, for the great instructors! PURA VIDA!!
