This was a great stay! We got a private room/bath. It was spacious and made it easy to sprawl out. Even as casual vacationers (not backpackers), this was great. Beautiful views and felt so cozy. Yes, like the other reviews said, you can hear anything and everything out the windows. But this is for everywhere. This is not a Hostel Plinio issue. Another note for other non-backpackers - there are a good handful of steps to climb when going in. It really isn’t too bad day-to-day. Only hard time was with big suitcases. A lot of excursions will pick you up directly from Hostel Plinio.

The room and kitchen were not clean. The private room was very basic, and felt a bit gross. We felt uncomfortable in the communal areas as the couches are really dirty/ worn and need replacing. With a bit of a effort this place could be nice. The receptionist was friendly and helpful.

This hostel presents itself as a hippie/backpacker place, but in reality there is absolutely no common atmosphere at all. The receptionist are helpful and the kitchen is clean and big. However we got food stolen from the fridge. The rooms, however, have very uncomfortable bed and are full of ants. But the worst is the location, if you actually want to sleep, do NOT stay here. Even though there is no party or social environment, the hostel is right in front of a main road, and you can hear cars passing all night long. The hostel is much closer to Quepos than to Manuel Antonio. You can’t walk to Manuel Antonio town and there is no beach within walking distance. The pool is dirty and very old. Definitely not inviting. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.
