About
Al Sabor is a cafeteria-style soda where a full plate of típico runs under ten dollars and the portions are massive. Regulars go for the ribs and the stewed beef, and vegetarians get looked after with solid recommendations. It's a no-frills local spot — friendly, cheap, and filling — best approached with a little Spanish.

Cafeteria style restaurant. Happy, friendly service. Good food with a nice variety. I have eaten here a few times, the ribs as well as the stewed beef are very good. You will get a plate full of food for less than $10. Highly recommend.
I don’t know why this place is getting high reviews. The food is poor quality and some of the beans are barely cooked properly. The meats were ok but truly most of it was not seasoned well and tasteless. It was the worst meal we had in Costa Rica. The service is meh - bare minimum because the price is so cheap. I don’t blame them on this, but be warned they do not speak English at all. So be prepared to order in Spanish. They have a bathroom but no toilet paper so you have to go to the cashier and grab tissues if you need to use the bathroom. Which after the meal we definitely needed it. Not sure how clean this place is, I got the hereby jeebies eating here and felt scammed by the reviews to come here. There is better, cleaner food elsewhere and it isn’t actually that cheap. It’s about 5300 colones for a plate and they just dump the food messily in your plate. Would not recommend and would actually warn.
Great food and service! They recommended me what to get as a vegetarian and everything was delicious. A full plate plus a drink, definitely a steal.
