Riverside Bungalows

Our family’s stay at Riverside Bungalows exceeded everything we imagined. After a long travel day, we were warmly greeted by the hosts—a local, family owned team—who welcomed us, shared helpful tips, and helped us settle into our bungalow late that evening. The next morning we woke up to what truly felt like a hidden sanctuary. Surrounded by lush trees, vibrant flora, and wildlife right outside our bungalow, it immediately reminded us why we love Costa Rica. Our bungalow was comfortable, private, and had everything we needed. The pool quickly became our 5 year old son Kade’s favorite spot, while my husband and I relaxed nearby watching monkeys in the trees and macaws flying overhead. The on site restaurant was another highlight. The atmosphere was welcoming and peaceful, and you could tell the food was thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients—we even saw deliveries arriving to the kitchen daily. One of the most special parts of our stay was watching our son quickly become friends with Carlos, the owner. Their connection was instant and it’s a memory we will always carry with us. The property feels secluded and immersed in nature, yet it’s perfectly located for easy day trips to Manuel Antonio and the surrounding area. Riverside Bungalows gave our family more than just a place to stay—it gave us an experience we’ll always remember. Thank you Carlos and family for such a special stay!

Riverside Bungalows are the perfect place for your stay in Manuel Antonio. The accommodation is very comfortable and has all that you need. Carlos and his family are the perfect hosts with helpful suggestions about activities and great knowledge of the area. The location is quiet and surrounded by nature on the Rio Mono (monkey river). We saw sloths, macaws, howler monkeys, squirrel monkey, Cappuchin monkeys, morphos butterflies, lizards, hummingbirds and countless other birds. The food in the Chillax Bistro is delicious and well worth a visit with its location looking out on the pool and garden.

We LOVED Riverside Bungalows!! Why? We were looking for an authentic, local CR experience and it was just that! It is a family owned property and the owner makes sure we had everything we needed. There is a restaurant for breakfast and dinner with great food! We would of liked to have more commodities to cook our own food but we didn’t ask to borrow. I’m sure they would have accepted. Things like glassware and plates, etc.. we available for us at the restaurant. Nice clean room with table outside. A nice pool to enjoy. Location is great, right in jungle and not too far to get the shuttle on the main road. Loved the surroundings with flowers and the jungle all around. Howling monkey woke us up the first morning. Magical! Little path along the river and hammocks to relax in nature. There is a wild (not manned) trail very close by and we were lucky enough to cross squirrel monkeys. Not guaranteed but a bonus for us! Would defenitely recommend!
