About
The Butcher Block is the Manuel Antonio spot for American BBQ and steak done seriously well. The porterhouse gets called melt-in-your-mouth tender, the three-meat plate (brisket, pulled pork, chicken) comes with four sauces explained tableside, and even the hot honey chicken burger and the sides win people over. They start you with popcorn, the dessert closes strong, and the service is warm and attentive. It isn't cheap — but guests say it's worth it.

In a word: Amazing! The food is tasty and generous. I had the hot honey chicken burger, and it was delicious. The sides are great too; I tried the broccoli salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes—they were all perfect. After all, what is good meat without a great sauce? They offer four different kinds, so you’ll definitely find your favorite. Finally, I’d like to thank Elton, who made this dinner so awesome. He was professional, friendly, and provided serious service. I’d come back in a heartbeat if only I lived in Costa Rica! See U 😎
Amazing! We came from Jaco to Manuel Antonio park on our last day in CR and my boyfriend really wanted some meat. We didn’t have any good meals in Jaco, but THIS was unreal. Amazingly huge portion, quality and service. Dessert was top notch to end it off. Thank you!
Okay.... Who went to Costa Rica for Texas BBQ? On our last night in Manuel Antonio we decided to try this BBQ place. Assuming it would be sub par. I mean it is in CR not Houston or Dallas. We drove the short distance and walked upstairs. Were immediately greeted and seated directly by the window. They brought us some tasty popcorn to snack on while we figured out what to order. The waiter recommends we share a 3 meat dinner with 2sides. Done... We get Brisket, Pulled Pork and Chicken. They bring over 4 different BBQ sauces and explain them all. We dove right in and boy the food was excellent. The Manager Jerry stopped by several times to make sure all was good and we were happy campers. Yep all good.
