About
Set about halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, this is a small cluster of four named apartments — Mariposa, Jaguar — where you can rent one or take the whole place for a group. Guests wake to daily visits from macaws, toucans, and hummingbirds and describe strong WiFi, comfortable well-furnished units, and a pool with beautiful views. Staff are friendly and helpful, and a private chef can be arranged. Follow the directions carefully; it takes some finding.

We had a wonderful 1 week stay at Villa Mar y Sol in the Mariposa (butterfly) apartment in February 2026. We were a party of 2, husband and wife aged 40s-50s. The space was clean, comfortable, well-furnished and had everything we needed for the week. WiFi was strong at the villa. Verizon cell coverage was great in the area, especially for GPS navigation. Engaged in lots of fun local activities: hiking, kayaking, sunset sail, etc. Saw lots of monkeys and sloths! Overall, Villa Mar Y Sol was an excellent choice and I would 100% stay here again. The location was convenient to tourist activities and to the towns of Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
This place is fantastic. The pool is delicious. The building is gorgeous and the sounds of the birds. It's beautiful to have coffee with it is difficult to find but worth the effort. You will be in Paradise when you get here. Just follow directions and keep going until you see the building
Lovely place, well taken care of by joyful staff. 4 stars is because the kitchen equipments are propane powered and there is no exhaust fan in the apartment. Bonus, the propane tank is under the sink, very dangerous. Bonus bonus, no monoxyde detector.
