Blue Iguana, Samara

Stayed here for a group trip and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms had been upgraded with new ac and fans, shower curtains and window coverings. My room was very clean. The hotel had new owners come in and it’s made a high difference from the reviews I’d read. The bar behind the hotel was having a party one night and we could hear it but helped to have the fan running and drown out the music. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. For the price, this hotel can’t be beat. A short walk to the beach, a small store where I could buy what I needed and a great pool area. I’d stay here again in the future for sure. Authentic rustic vibe which my family loved - and the pool area was great to cool off in.

Beautiful little piece of paradise! Right next to Samara Beach just a block away. The iguana is very reasonably priced and a more authentic way to experience Samara, I enjoyed that it was not overcrowded and very peaceful. They offer many adventures including sunset trips on their beautiful catamaran where you get to see sea life such as sea turtles. They offer many quad trip I was taken on to the waterfalls and to see Playa Baracona was fantastic! Howler monkeys are incredible and the little Anotoles and squirrels are so adorable. The staff and owners were amazing and take very good care of you!

This hostel/ hotel has recently changed ownership and I think it may have made all the difference. We had a great time at Blue Iguana. The staff is very friendly and many speak English which can be helpful. The location is prime and maybe the best part; The beach is just around the corner. Has a pool and bar and restaurant. Rooms are cleaned every day. We received breakfast vouchers though didn't use them because the food was better elsewhere but if your on a budget the pricing is very reasonable, breakfast is included and there is AC in each room. This was a very lovely place to stay. The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors. We didn't mind at all but if this bothers you it may not be the place for you. Wed recommend the Blue Iguana.
