About
A tiny six-unit hotel directly on Sámara's sand — several rooms sit maybe thirty feet from the water, each with a well-stocked kitchen, and the grounds are full of hammocks, loungers, and a gazebo. Because it's so small, it stays private and quiet. Jay, the owner, is remembered for keeping it beautiful, arranging grilled fresh fish and tours, and introducing guests who leave as friends. Town's a ten-minute beach walk.

We had another wonderful stay at the Fenix Hotel, our 27th stay actually. This little gem is so special. Located right on the beach the rooms are clean, nicely decorated and include a very well stocked kitchen. The grounds are gorgeous with plenty of shade and lots of hammock and lounge chairs. The staff are so attentive and pleasant. We cannot wait for next year. Thanks, again for an amazing stay! Kate and Jim
We really loved the location of this small, quaint hotel that is directly on the beach, just a 10 min walk from Samara town. One thing we were not prepared for is that the windows in the main living area (which is where the twin trundle bed is located) cannot be closed. They are screens that open to the outside, so you can hear lots of noise (dogs, roosters, early morning sprinklers, other guests). It also got very hot and was difficult to fall asleep. We understood that only the bedroom would have A/C, but we did not know that the other area where beds were would be open air. It did cool off after a few hours, and we always travel with earplugs, but it was not ideal for our kids. The curtains in this living area were also very light, and they kept the outside lights on all night, which might be a problem for some people who are trying to sleep on these trundle beds. The bedroom DID have good A/C. Otherwise, we enjoyed the nice sitting area outside the room. The kitchen had a full-size fridge and essentials for cooking. It was great that they supplied coffee and filters along with dishwashing soap, but no soap for the shower and no shampoo/conditioner supplied. Tap water was ok to drink and they had a nice cold pitcher of water for us in the refrigerator. The staff were all great and very helpful. The communication was great and when we had questions they were fairly responsive to WhatsApp messages. The only other thing that would be nice would be a few more lounger chairs for the beach. Each day it felt like most chairs were occupied by others. Overall, we would recommend this hotel!
What a great place! We rented the "Casa" for 2 nights, and were very happy. Our boys (11 and 13) loved the beach. Restaurants and grocery stores are close. This is a much more chill area than Tamarindo, for example. The other rooms feel less private but the casa is on its own and we loved it! So nice to be steps from the beach
