Hotel Selva y Mar Sámara

Amazing little spot away from the busy city center in a gated compound that is flanked by a dirt road on one side and a ranch on the other. The views are incredible and it’s so quiet and peaceful. Not a far walk from the city center where there are restaurants and nightlife nearby.

After our 5 hours driving to Samara we've been told that the hotel paynment terminal is out of order, the paynment was required by cash. We hadn't this amount in cash- due to our last experience in Costarica, we expected we could offer our room key, just to take a shower and than we could go withdraw, but when I asked for the key, the staff told us: You won't get it, because you didn't pay. It was quite rude behavior...I said that I was surprised and I don't think I would like this attitude- especially when we have a reservation by card, we filled in our names, number of passport etc., and the unfunctionall paynmnet terminal is not our fault, and the stuff said: Sorry. You need to pay. Fortunatelly, it was the only non polite staff here...during our first day. The other staffes next day were very pleasant. But this experience made us to move next day, even we thought about staying longer. But the room was nice and clean, the breakfast was really good and other employees were pleasant.

We spent two nights at villa on our motorcycle trip. We enjoyed the villa a lot ! Crew was really friendly and helpful, they making the best cocktails for us and being funny, makes it more enjoyable ! Pool is nicely maintained with a deep end. Breakfast was good, compared to the other 9 hotels where we stayed on our trip. On my next trip to CR I will definitely booking that hotel again !
