About
Up a flight of stairs on Samara's main drag, Kijongo feels like a treehouse: swinging chairs, a ship-inspired design and a rooftop breeze over the street. The poke bowl draws vegetarians and omnivores alike, and the happy hour (two-for-one cocktails) runs later than most in town. Fish tacos, patacones with shrimp and Peruvian-style ceviche round it out, with servers travelers describe as charismatic.

I had the poke bowl and my husband had the tuna steak. Both were very delicious. Happy hour (2 for 6,000 colonies I believe) ran an hour later than all the other restaurants. They had a good list of cocktails included, which was perfect for my husband that doesn't drink. My pina colada had plenty of flavor. Our server was very charismatic and obviously passionate about the food served, which made our experience better. She said "everything made with love is delicious" when we told her how good the food was. Our server had fantastic English and was able to answer any questions we had as our Spanish is no Bueno. Food was fresh and many healthy options. Ambience was great. Felt like we were in a tree house. Neat swinging chairs, overlooking the street. All food in Samara is overpriced, this was by no means the most expensive but also not the cheapest - somewhere in the middle. I believe we spent $60 CAD for 2 entrees and a round of happy hour.
Great food, alcohol and service! They have a happy hour with really good cocktails The food was tasty, I am vegetarian so I picked the poke ball which was AMAZING Plus the place looks incredible, designs like a ship Highly reccomended!
Located upstairs, right on the main drag in Samara, this place is a treasure. We hit happy hour and had delicious mojitos 2 for 1. Then we ordered two discounted “snacks”: fish tacos and patacones with shrimp. Both were filled with fresh, delicious ingredients. We were the only patrons in the place, but enjoyed our rooftop view while swinging from suspended chairs. We’ll be back for sure!
