About
A short walk from the beach, Masala is regularly called the best Indian food in Costa Rica, with a menu far deeper than the usual tikka masala: chicken cashew soup, tandoori prawns, lamb shahi korma and vindaloo, plus real vegan options. The cooks and servers are from India, the flavors taste authentic, and server Koushik gets named over and over for charming, speedy service.

Delicious food! It was unlike Indian food I've had in the past but delicious. It's not on the beach, but it's easily walkable from town. We ate here twice during our stay. No wait either time, and the food came quickly. We had a waitress who was so kind and funny. She gave us great recommendations and made sure we were comfortable. It can get hot, but they have fans set up and lots of string lights which give a nice atmosphere.
I love the bartender and server Koushik he is my favorite person I’ve ever met in my life. I smells wonderful and his outfit was to an absolute T. He is so kind and charismatic. This restaurant is fabulous. I come here so often they greet me by my name at the door. If you come here, ask for Koushik.
This place is definitely a hidden gem in Samara and one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. They also have the most varied Indian menu I've seen, with a ton of options beyond the usual basic Tikka Masala dishes you see everywhere. They even have their own special cocktails! Very friendly and hospitable staff too. Will definitely be back!
