A quiet, clean lodge in Sámara that solo travelers — women especially — mention feeling safe at, with kind, hands-on hosts full of local recommendations. The breakfast is delicious, the pool is clean and refreshing, and everything you need is within walking distance. It sits near an intersection and main road, so it can get a little loud some nights, but that's common across town. Strong value all around.

I had a wonderful stay at Samara Palm Lodge. I felt very safe as a female solo traveler. The hosts were kind and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, the pool was fantastic and the hotel was quiet, peaceful and clean. It is in walking distance to all amenities. I highly recommend.
Great place to stay, very friendly hosts, nice breakfast, refreshing and very clean pool. Only at times during the night a bit loud due to location at intersection and main road, but this seems to be a "problem" of many places in Sámara.
I traveled to several places in Costa Rica and Samara Palms was by far my favorite hotel. The rooms were amazing and the staff was very friendly with lots of helpful recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
