First of all: if you want to see the details of my photos, please zoom into them... I would like to make my feelings, experiences and thoughts available. Where do I begin? Twice I bought different types of rice in the China market, which I found out at home that they were contaminated with beetles and larvae. Of course I would have the burden of proof that I had stored the rice correctly and I can only say that due to the overall situation (that in Costa Rica you regularly have insects such as ants etc. in the house) I always double-lock everything - i.e. a second one Use outer packaging such as freezer bags, an empty glass or a plastic can or put everything in the fridge that is allowed in there. To be honest, I only buy from the China market out of necessity. And ONLY packaged food. I find it bad to treat food like this that I want to sell at a high price. I once had bad luck with a bottle of crushed tomatoes. It wasn't vacuum sealed, which I only noticed when I got home. I got her back within half an hour. The employee in charge did not want to give me an exchange. Only when I argued very clearly and emphatically that I would not leave without a new bottle was I called the next higher authority and an exchange was agreed. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. For me personally, the hygienic conditions are simply bad and I don't want to get carried away with speculation about the pathogens that romp around here. Just the mold that I photographed on one of the shelves... I don't want to make a comparison to Germany here. The criticism is directed at the company management and not at the employees on site. I find the prices partly and the storage of the groceries inappropriate. Food is produced cheaply and sold at high prices. Surveillance cameras must have been expensive for that. I answer everyone's questions about my overall impression, which I cannot describe in detail here. I would like to know if there is an authority in Costa Rica to review

The staff wouldn't let me into the store during the fake pandemic, even though I had a mask exemption. Once inside, the saleswoman forced me to buy a mask, threatening me with being denied any purchase. Simply stupid and inhumane.

It's basically a store filled with items made in China. Want a cheap toy that was made in China, you'll find it here. Want a plastic sun hat that was made in China, that's here too! Basically anything you would find in a dollar store in North America you'll find here as well. However, if you're someone who wants the cheapest prices, make sure to also price check with the Pali down the street as things like Salsa Lazano and other Costa Rican made products seem to be cheaper there.
