Sushi Samarai hides in a somewhat obscure spot near the beach, but diners call it the best sushi in Samara, even Guanacaste, with big rolls and fish that's always fresh. The secluded setting is calm and welcoming, chefs happily work with substitutions, and server Gladys gets singled out as sweet and attentive with great local recommendations. Worth seeking out.

We had 3 different rolls at Sushi Samarai. They were all excellent! The restaurant is located in a somewhat obscure location near the beach. The food is fresh and the service great!
Best meal we had in Samara. I’m not even a sushi guy but I was blown away. Absolutely above and beyond service from Gladys as well. She was so sweet, attentive, and made great local recommendations.
Absolutely Outstanding Sushi Experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and elegant. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Every dish we ordered was a work of art — fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Each bite was a surprise and a showcase of the chef’s talent and passion. The soy sauce tasted high quality! The service was prompt, our server had great recommendations, and we never felt rushed. It's clear they care deeply about the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. This is hands-down the best sushi we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be coming back — and bringing friends!
